Staffordshire Digital's mission is to encourage and support the digital place-shaping of Staffordshire. It aims to strengthen, grow, and showcase digital and tech innovation excellence in the region, and demonstrate Staffordshire’s position at the forefront of creating the digital future.

As a region, Staffordshire can be a prominent player in the wave of digital and tech innovation that is transforming the world and become a beacon of excellence in this arena. There is a real opportunity to develop a new contemporary regional identity defined around a critical mass of high value digital capability and Staffordshire Digital’s intent, acting in the form of a regional digital assembly, is to achieve this.

  • Professor Khawar Hameed has a long-standing and deep association with computing in Staffordshire. He joined Staffordshire University (then Polytechnic) in 1987 reading Information Systems in the Department of Computing at Blackheath Lane in Stafford. He then spent 26 years at the newly-formed University developing, managing, and teaching undergraduate & postgraduate computing courses. He was key in developing, securing, implementing, and co-leading large-scale technology projects that spanned the academic-industry spectrum. He currently works a Management Consultant in Digital Transformation based in Stafford.

    Khawar says, “We are accelerating rapidly into the fourth industrial revolution and a hyperconnected world that will be rich with disruptive digital product, service, and technology innovations that meet the needs of future society. I am intent on seeing Staffordshire, as a region, being part of this and becoming a key player in the UK digital ecosystem, and for it to develop as a place and beacon of digital excellence with a vibrant digital/tech community of practice.”

  • Jamie is a Staffordshire-based digital business leader and has held senior roles in industry and academia. He is Exec Chair at C-Learning, Director Delling Cloud, co-founder of S24 and director/trustee AAT, and Trustee of the Friends of Staffordshire Army Cadet Force.

    His focus is on a cloud-first approach to enable transformation that delivers real results and value. Coupled with a human-centric perspective, he sees the potential of IoT and convergence to create disruptive impact that makes life smarter.

    He is a firm believer in the power of digital/technology, particularly the potential of AI, to significantly shape the future of learning and the opportunities for re-imagining education for the 21st century.
